For those of you who don't already know, I'm attending the Washington Media and Journalism Conference at George Mason University this summer in Washington, D.C. To help participants meet each other before the conference, it has a facebook page.

anywho... we started talking and got to know each other fairly well (we both recognize that you can't know someone completely only talking online.) and he read on my page that i "sort of" like someone (HIM) the following conversation ensued via facebook chat last night [[H: Him. S: Me]]

H: so you sort of like someone?
S: sort of.
S: what about you?
H: same, haven't met this particular person yet so can't be sure
S: same here, it's hard to read people without meeting face to face
H: yeah
H: when do you think you'll meet this person?
S: soon I hope. definatley before the end of the summer
H: where are they from?
S: they live in AZ, long distance relationships don't work.

H: yeah, i've tried that and it didn't go well

and then we said goodnight. we've talked more today but now you know the main idea. Nothing's going to happen until the conference and I can't guarentee that anything's going to happen once we're there, but we'll see how things pan out.

my dad slept on the couch last night. that hasn't happened for years (with the exception of him falling asleep watching tv). As far as i know, they still haven't spoken to each other. my dad brought home pastries for breakfast and all my mom could say was that he was kissing up.
both of them had to go to my sisters dance recital today, so hopefully they won't come home pissed off. My other sister and i made brownies (my dad's favorite dessert) and jello (my mom's favorite dessert) while they're out. Maybe it'll make them stop fighting for a while.

father's day is tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it.
